In an interview with GQ that was released last week, Frank Ocean said that he had written a song for the new Quentin Tarantino film Django Unchained. With the soundtracks tracklist released earlier this week, Frank Ocean was noticeably missing from the soundtrack. Quentin Tarantino want to set the record straight so he’s released a statement explaining what happened.
Frank Ocean wrote a fantastic ballad that was truly lovely and poetic in every way, there just wasn’t a scene for it. I could have thrown it in quickly just to have it, but that’s not why he wrote it and not his intention. So I didn’t want to cheapen his effort. But, the song is fantastic, and when Frank decides to unleash it on the public, they’ll realize it then.
The album will be released December 18 so let’s hope Frank decides to liberate the track he recorded in time for Christmas.
