The best thing about China is how they manage to get all the analysts wrong! Previously, the analysts had said that it will take China atleast a decade to get their first aircraft carrier operational, well they managed to do it within five years. Then everyone analyst opined that it will take China at least five years before they can commence flight operations from the carriers, now it turns out that China will be able to do the same within a year or so, Good for China, bad for every other country. Anyway, China, well done!

Aircraft carrier is a white elephant at sea unless and until that Navy has escort ships and long range maritime recce aircraft to protect the carrier . Now having said that , all these platforms have to integrate at sea as a carrier battle group to make it a formidable force . Very few nations have proven battle groups and it takes a long time for a navy to master that art ! Hence the PLA Navy building a carrier or landing an aircraft on the carrier is no big deal . They have a long way to go if they have intentions of operating a carrier for power projection or to deploy it as a combat platform.

What is so great in landing an air-craft on an air-craft carrier??But playing games will be difficult for China since most of the countries are lined up against is as far as the South China sea is concerned.India should take advantage of this God given oppurtunity to rally these nations around.

Let me know, what you feel about this. I think India should take steps to safe gaurd its boundries. In this world the only nations powerful are U.S.A, Russia and China. In these countries, Russia will never side with India against its idelogical partner China. The only remaining power is U.S.A. If we join NATO, we could have many benefits including the unbrella protection in the world, with armament transfer, technology transfer, missile defence and the mighty power of all the NATO nations. We can be soveriegn like all the participating nations with the Power of U.S.A to back us in times of need.
