Former Paramore drummer, Zac Farro has talked to Kerrang! about his new band HalfNoise and how, he is now two years later ready move on, after he and his brother Josh left Paramore in Dcember 2012. Zac also talks about how he has restored his friendship with Paramore guitarist Taylor York. You can read what Zac had to say below:
‘You can’t blame them for being hurt’ Zac says of those difficult few months. ‘We tried to handle it in the best way we could but i totally understand that it was hard for everyone, not just Josh and I. They’d say that they didn’t get treated very well (because of Josh’s blog post) and we’d say the same thing. I stand by the decision I made in leaving and I don’t think I should have stayed in Paramore but it was tough and as with any big decision I couldn’t say I don’t have any regrets . But at the end of the day it doesn’t really matter.
I think we’ve all learned that what we believe in can be portrayed in a more loving way.’ Despite revealing that Paramore still aren’t very fond of Josh, Zac says that time has helped heal his friendship with Taylor. ‘It’s been great to reconnect with Taylor just because it happened so naturally,’ Zac says. ‘I don’t want to force anyone to feel like they should feel awkward or whatever.
I honestly don’t know how Jeremy or Hayley would feel about hanging out again, maybe its one of those things where they feel like they just can’t go there, but if I were to run into them I’d try to give them a big hug and say ‘Hey!’ And what of Paramore’s future? And his old bands long awaited new album? ‘Of course I’m interested in what they do next. I’d hope they feel the same about HalfNoise. I’m excited to see what they come up with because I feel like we’ve all grown up separately in different ways and have become completely different people in the past two years. I’m happy for them and I wish them all the best. Paramore fans are crazy and great and I’m sure they’ll get another great album. I hope they knock it out of the park.
