Yoko: And I’m Yoko. We’re talking to you from the year 2092.
Mr.English: Yoko and I are visiting Moktar today.
Yoko: He’s a teacher from the 21st century.
Mr. English: A history teacher. We’re going to join his class.
Yoko: Moktar’s students want to talk to us.
Moktar: Good morning!
Class: Good morning!
Moktar: Class, we have two guests today. This is Yoko.
Student1: Hello, Yoko. How do you like the future?
Yoko: Well, it’s different.
Moktar: And this is Mr.English.
Mr.English: Hi, It’s very nice to be here. I like the future very much.
Student2: What do you like?


Mr.English: Well, I like the people. Everyone is very friendly.
Student1: Did you meet friendly people in the past?
Mr.English: Sure we did. But people here seem even friendlier.
Yoko: I like the weather here.
Student1: Did you have good weather in the past?
Yoko: Yes, we did. But not every day.
Moktar: We would all like to understand more about the past. So please tell us, exactly what did you do every day?

Student2: I agree. Life in the twentieth century was not very interesting.
Yoko: It wasn’t so bad.
Student3: The weather was bad, and the people-


Yoko: Now wait a minute. You don't understand.
Student1: The people didn't have enough free time.
Yoko: [Getting angry] That’s not true! It was a good life!
Moktar: She's getting angry.
Yoko: It was a wonderful life! I was happy!
Mr. English: Now. Yoko, don't get upset.
Yoko: l am upset. I’m angry!
Class: Angry?!
Moktar: Angry?!
Yoko: Yes. Angry. A-N-G-R-Y. Angry!
Moktar: But that’s impossible.
Mr. English: Impossible?
Moktar: Yes. You see, we don't get angry in the twenty-first century. Everyone is very calm.
Yoko: Now that's boring!
Student2: It's against the law to get angry.
Mr. English: Against the law?
Moktar: Yes, of course. Yoko?


Yoko: Yes?
Moktar: Did you really get angry?
Yoko: Yes. I did. In fact I'm still angry!
Moktar: I see. Hmm. This is serious. I’m afraid I’ll have to call the police.
Yoko: The police?
Mr. English: The police?
[We hear a police siren]
Policeman: What seems to be the trouble here?
Moktar: This young lady was angry.
Policeman: Angry?
Moktar: Yes, angry.
Policeman: Young lady, did you get angry?
Yoko: My name is Yoko. Yes. I did.
Policeman: I see. Come with me, please.
Yoko: What did I do? I didn't do anything wrong!
[We hear people talking. A judge's gavel silences them]
Judge: Order in the court. Order! Quiet! Next case, please!


Bailiff: This is Yoko, your honor. She was . . . angry!
Judge: Did you really get angry. Yoko?
Yoko: Yes, l did.
Judge: I see. Did you get very angry?
Yoko: No. I didn't.
Judge: Did you Jump up and down?
Yoko: No. I didn't.
Judge: I see. Did you shout?
Yoko: Shout?
Judge: Yes, shout. Like this: I'M ANGRY!
Yoko: No. I didn't.
Moktar: No. she didn't shout, your honor. She was just a little angry.
Judge: Now let me repeat this. She was angry, but not very angry. She didn’t jump up and down and she didn’t shout.
Moktar: That is correct.
Judge: All right. I will consider the evidence, and this court will reach a verdict-a fair decision-very quickly. Court is adjourned for one minute.
Judge: All right, now. It is time for my decision. Yoko was not very angry. And so, she is not guilty of any serious crime. She is innocent. But Yoko was a little angry, and so I sentence Yoko to three days of relaxation.


Yoko: Relaxation?
Judge: Yes. Relaxation. Rest. No work! You must stay at the beach, or go to the park, or take a vacation. But no work. Do you understand, Yoko?
Yoko: Yes, your honor.
Judge: And don’t WORRY.
Yoko: yes, your honor.
Judge: Good. [He bangs the gavel.] Next case!
