lonely wolf Long ago there was a gulfwhich all healthy dogs could cross, but they left behind the wolf.Now when you see wolf packs prowling, think how they regret their loss, to the blameless full moon howling.On NPR today a storyteller from Minnesota related a tale told by the Oglala Indians that records that long ago all dogs jumped across a gulf, leaving behind only one of their pack, which became a wolf and howled, longing for the dogs he missed.
