先介绍人物女歌手：另类女歌手中，pj.哈维是少数被主流音乐所认可的一位歌手，曾有获得格莱美大奖和三次mercury提名的破天荒记录。英国创作女歌手PJ Harvey在年青乐迷心目中地位一向崇高，早前她在美国勇夺由业内人士选出的“Mercury Music Prize”，最近她更在英权威音乐杂志《Q Magazine》的读者投票选举中，获选为最伟大的摇滚及流行女歌手，力压麦当娜及KateBush，佩服！佩服！该选举项目投票人数多达二十万，故甚具代表性。头五位女歌手依次为：PJ Harvey、麦当娜、Kate Bush、Tori Amos及Bjork。除了麦当娜外，PJ Harvey甚至打败Stevie Nicks (第九位)、Janis Joplin(第十位)及Aretha Franklin(第十一位)。至于畅销歌手如Britney Spears 、Mariah Carey及Whitney Houston则二十大都不入。就连影响英国流行乐坛甚深的Spice Girls，也只排第八十三位。
