Cooper ,虽然他自己一直否认。三十年前他带着 150 万的现金从飞机上跳伞下来。当 Michael 环视着这个院子时, Sucre 已经开始同其他犯人聊天了。他发现了二个黄色的消防龙头和一个下水道口。而紧靠 Michael 的则是另一个下水道口。他将一本杂志丢进了里面。然后他走向 Sucre 和其他犯人中:“我要找个人,他的名字叫 Lincoln Burrows 。” Sucre 带着他走到院子的一角,他们看到 Lincoln 紧靠着墙壁蹲坐着,远离着一般囚犯。在监狱中他被人叫做 Linc the Sink 。他因谋杀副总统的兄弟而被关在死囚区等待着死亡。 Sucre 问 Michael ,“你为什么这么急着要见 Burrows ?” Michael 的回答令人觉得有些大胆。“因为他是我哥。” Sucre 告诉他,唯一能够靠近他兄弟的方法就是进入 PI ,也就是监狱工业。但是前任黑帮老大, Fox River 的大人物 John Abruzzi 在 PI 里有很大的影响力。 Michael 在他的狱室里折着一只纸鹤。他的头脑中闪过几个月前的他和 Lincoln 的谈话。他们说着 Lincoln 的死期。在探视区,隔着玻璃和钢条, Lincoln 向 Michael 发誓他真的没有杀副总统的兄弟。 Lincoln 说他不知道到底是谁杀,但这是一个骗局。回到狱室, Sucre 正在给他的女友 Maricruz 写信。他打算向她求婚。 LJ 和他朋友骑车穿过芝加哥一条昏暗的小巷。他们来到一扇门前,推了下门把,之后一个衣道得体的男人走了出来。他们跟随着这男人来到一辆车旁,那男人打开车后备箱,把一大包的大麻放进了 LJ 的背包。 LJ 和那男人定下了交货的细节后,这二个男孩就骑车离开了。但是便衣警察却一直在这里注视着这一切,在他们二人逃离前就已经把他们堵在了那里。 Michael 走路穿过院子,那儿, John Abruzzi 坐在那里玩牌。 Michael 大胆地对 John Abruzzi 说他想要受雇于 PI 工作,但是 John Abruzzi 对这个新来的犯人不敢兴趣。对 John Abruzzi 这样的人来说, Michael 这样的人没有什么能够给他。 Michael 轻轻地说:“这可说不定。”然后将一只折纸鹤放在了 John Abruzzi 前面。 John Abruzzi 站了起来,看着 Michael 的离开。“如果想要同我说话就过来找我。”在离去前 Michael 抛了这句话。 John Abruzzi 将纸鹤朝他丢了过去。 在一个仓库里,大块的肉从天花板上垂下来,屠夫正站在那里切着牛肉。黑帮成员 Gavin Smallhouse 进来了,手里拿着一个信封。 Maggio ,一个很胖的穿着屠夫服的男人走向了 Gavin 。信封内是一张远处拍摄的老人的照片。照片中的男人叫 Fibonacci, 是黑帮泄密者,正是他的证词使得 Abruzzi 被关到了监狱。 Gavin Smallhouse 对这张照片的来源颇感兴趣。但是,信封上却什么也没有。“这是什么?” Maggio 问道。 在监狱医疗室, Sara Tancredi 医生将一剂针打进了 Michael 的手臂。“顺便说下,我叫 Michael 。”他用温柔而又有点轻浮的音调对她说,“那你呢?” Sara 回答:“ Tancredi 医生。” Michael 问她是否是州长 Tancredi 的女儿,但 Sara 没有回答。事实上如果这个人道主义奖获得者的理想家就是那个对犯罪持强硬态度的州长的女儿,这可确实不是她所愿意讲的。 Tancredi 医生暂时离开医疗室一会, Michael 马上站起来,将一只纸鹤偷偷的扔进了医疗室的下水管道。他回到座位在 Sara 回来前坐下。 Sara 告诉他因为针筒不许在狱室出现,他必须来到医疗室来进行他的胰岛素注射。 在华盛顿特区,特勤处特工 Hale 进入了特工 Kellerman 的办公室。他告诉 Kellerman 对 Lincoln 的死刑执行已一切待命,只是主教 Bishop McMorrow 有点麻烦。 Hale 担心主教利用他对州长的影响力可能会让他允许死刑延期。 Kellerman 明白他的意思。“或许我们应该去拜访一下主教了。”

监狱礼拜堂里, Lincoln 看了一眼牧师,站起准备离开时,转身却一眼看到了 Michael 。 Lincoln 简直不敢相信自己的眼睛。他问 Michael “为什么?” Michael 告诉他,他要将 Lincoln 带出监狱。 Lincoln 告诉 Michael 这是不可能的。 Michael 答道:“但如果是你设计了这个地方就不一样了。” Sebastian 和 Veronica 快速翻着一本结婚邀请书。 Sebastian 告诉她,他们需要尽快决定。但是 Veronica 却不希望这么匆忙,只要把事情做好。 Sebastian 感觉到 Veronica 是不是对他们的结合有点怀疑。 Veronica 向他保证他就是 Veronica 想要嫁的的那个人 Sucre 正在给他女友写信。她希望能够在这二天内见到他和他一起过下夫妻生活。但没有告诉他她马上就要来了。一个狱警敲着狱室的门:“ Scofield ,监狱长要见你。” Sucre 对 Michael 说没人能够获得监狱长的接见,除非对他所做的事情感兴趣。 监狱长 Warden Henry Pope 摘下他的眼镜在看着 Michael 的学术成就。“对你的事我无能为力,但是我想知道,是什么让这么优秀的一个人来到了这里?” Michael 答道:“我想是几个月前拐错弯了。” 监狱长提示说在 Michael 的档案中,他自称失业了,但监狱长不相信。“ Michael ,我知道你是个结构工程师。” 监狱长带着 Michael 进入隔壁房间,房间里的工作台上,一个大型的用牙签制作的泰姬玛哈尔陵模型就放在那里。监狱长解释说这个模型代表着他对他妻子的爱。他希望能够在二个月内四十周年纪念日前把它送给妻子。但问题是,建到这里,他找不到合适的加固点了,他希望 Michael 能够帮他以防倒塌。监狱长可以让他一周有三天时间在他的办公室里帮他做。但 Michael 拒绝了。监狱长有点吃惊:“孩子,我向你保证,在这里,我欠你一个人情远胜于你欠我一下人情。”但 Michael 说他倒愿意试试。于是监狱长叫警卫把 Michael 带出去。LJ 正被他母亲 Lisa Rix 痛骂中。“ 二磅 的大麻 ? 你还想留下案底呀? LJ 笑了下,但是 Lisa 抓住 LJ :“这不是开玩笑, LJ ,你会被送入监狱的。” LJ 的继父 Adrian 进来了。 Lisa 说 LJ 需要有人给他做指导。 LJ 嘀咕着他可不想要 Warbucks 老爹的指导。 Lisa 不明白怎么如此不礼貌,她想到了 Lincoln ,或许让他和他爸面对面聊会他才会学好。 Veronica 去见 Michael 。 Michael 看来执意要呆在 Fox River ,甚至劝 Veronica 不要再为他案子进行上诉了。 Veronica 明白其中肯定有什么事,她想知道 Michael 的计划。话题聊到了她和 Lincoln 的关系上了。她告诉 Michael 当她大学毕业时曾给了 Lincoln 很多机会复合。但 Michael 指出在她当初离开 Lincoln 的时候就让他感到了伤害。她要求 Michael 停止他的计划。 Michael 告诉她,如果大家想要救出 Lincoln 的话,她就去找出来到底是谁在陷害 Lincoln 。 正当 Veronica 签字离开时, Lincoln 在另一侧平行走廊上被带过。他看到了 Veronica ,然而 Veronica 却没看到他。 Hale 和 Kellerman 在主教 Bishop McMorrow 的办公室与他碰面。 Kellerman 试图说明主教,不管出于什么原因,希望他能够不再插手 Burrows 的案件。而主教却坚持:如果一个死刑犯需要他的帮助,那他一定会伸出援助。 Kellerman 放出了他的底牌,指责主教 Bishop 涉嫌欺骗。主教 Bishop 站起来说厉声答道,他不会被吓退的。 Abruzzi 斜靠在在付费电话机旁打电话,电话的另一头是 Maggio 。“你听我说,有人找到了 Fibonacci 。” Abruzzi 的眼睛马上一亮,他想知道是谁送来的信。 Maggio 说他不知道,但是在信封内有一个“纸折的鸟”。这个使 Abruzzi 想起什么,他挂掉电话走开了。 Michael 站在院子里他扔杂志的那个下水道口上面,他向下看去,发现他在医疗室里扔下的纸鹤被水被冲到了这里。他身后, Charles Westmoreland 正在看书,那只叫 Marilyn 的猫躺在他的夹克衫中。 Michael 来到他旁边坐下。告诉 Charles Westmoreland 说认识他的夫人。试探了下 Michael ,他确定这个新犯人可值得相信, Charles Westmoreland 才放松下来。 Michael 问 Charles Westmoreland 是不是就是 D.B. Cooper 。 Westmoreland 笑笑答道:“每个新来的犯人来到这里,听到的第一件事就是说 Charles Westmoreland 就是 D.B. Cooper 。” Westmoreland 否认了这一切。这时 Abruzzi 进来了,后面跟着他的小弟。于是 Westmoreland 起身离开。

Abruzzi 想要 Michael 说出线人下落,但 Michael 只是问:“假如你能逃出这片围墙,你能否找到人保证让自己永远销声匿迹?” Abruzzi 说他能,但这并非他来和 Michael 谈话的事情。他想知道 Fibonacci 到底在哪里。 Michael 威胁道,如果有人因此要对付他的话,他将会追着 Abruzzi 不放。他站到了 Abruzzi 的前面, Abruzzi 的小弟们显然被 Michael 的话语给激怒了。他们扑向了 Michael ,有个小弟拿着装有电池的袜子朝他打过来。哨塔上的警卫注意到这一切,开始朝院子里在 Michael 和 Abruzzi 周围鸣枪警告,这才终止了这场冲突。 在监狱长的办公室里,监狱长威胁说因打架事件要将 Michael 禁闭 90 天,但 Michael 很快想到要求帮忙固定泰姬陵来取代被禁闭。监狱长同意了。 主教 Bishop 在他宽大的床上睡着了。一个阴影靠墙移动。地板发出了声响。“谁在那里?”主教叫道。他坐了起来,眼神困惑。这时一把带有消声的手枪朝他开枪了。 Veronica 的办公室里,她的助手进来告诉了她主教死亡的新闻。她明白,这一个能够帮助挽救 Lincoln 生命的人已经被谋杀了。“ Michael 说的没错!”她从文件柜里取出一份 Lincoln 判决的痕迹证据复印件。 警卫押着 Lincoln 来到接见区。 Lisa 和 LJ 在那里等着他。 Lisa 告诉 Lincoln LJ 被捕了,希望他能够给 LJ 一些来自父亲的建议。她一个人离开他们。 Lincoln 试图告诉 LJ 他应该走上正途而不能死在像 Fox River 这样的地方。但 LJ 对来自他这个罪犯父亲的建议不置与否。“他们几个月时间内就要把我处死了,我就要死了,你明白不?” Lincoln 告诉他,而 LJ 却猛然转身说:“对我来说,你已经死了!” Sucre 在夫妻室走来走去,心里紧张着 Maricruz 能不能过来。警卫打开了门, Maricruz 进来了。她羞涩地接受了 Sucre 的求婚。 Michael 来到了医疗室, Sara 看着他的检查表,有些数据有些奇怪。胰岛素对他的血糖起不了作用,而通常糖尿病人应该对此有作用的。她问他是否确定他得的就是一型糖尿病,他说确定,在他还是小孩的时候就是了。这时电话响了,暂时让他得以缓和。他站了起来,朝窗户外望去。一条电话线连着医疗室的屋顶和对面监狱的墙顶。他低头看 到 他的手正在颤抖。 Sara 说下次他来的时候要对他做一些测试。 夫妻接待室里, Sucre 问 Maricruz 是如何来到监狱的。而 Maricruz 一说 Hector , Sucre 就火了。他不喜欢 Hector ,他认为 Hector 试图想把她从他身边偷走。 Maricruz 对 Sucre 说无需担心这个。 Michael 走到一个叫 C-Note 的犯人旁边,他就是“这里的药房”。 Michael 问他有没 PUGNAc ,一种胰岛素药片。 C-Note 说这种药片医务室里应该有的,但是 Michael 说他无法从医务室得到这种药因为他刚去过医务室。 C-Note 奇怪怎么有人刻意来要他们并不需要的胰岛素。但当 Michael 将钱交给他后,他也就不再问这些问题了。 Michael 待在他的狱室,有狱警经过用 PI 卡扣击着栅栏。 Michael 笑了下。 在干完刷墙工作后, Michael 和 Lincoln 一起并排走着。 Lincoln 问到了 Veronica ,“她还是想要和那家伙订婚?” Lincoln 说那应该是的。 Lincoln 知道在与 Veronica 分手后他拒绝了很多人。 Abruzzi 远远地看着他们。 Michael 对 Lincoln 轻声说着说他的计划。“走出这片围墙,这仅仅只是个开始。” Lincoln 对他说。 Lincoln 追问 Michael 的计划, Michael 笑着同 Lincoln 简短地说了下这所监狱在 1999 年翻新过的事。“你看过图纸?” Lincoln 轻声问道。 Michael 脱下他上身工作服。“不止,我都已经刻在身上了。” Michael 站在 Lincoln 的前面,他的胸部,手臂,背部刻满了一个大型的纹身。 Michael 叫 Lincoln 靠近点看。 Lincoln 惊奇地发现 Michael 已经把整个监狱的蓝图都已经藏在了他的纹身中了。
