First Look: American Idol's Phillip Phillips Out of the Hospital!
No wonder Phillip Phillips is making a face. He just had surgery and he's already back on the job!
The good news, of course, is that the latest American Idol winner is back on his feet, or at least feeling spry enough to sign autographs, after undergoing kidney surgery in Los Angeles.
"I'm out of the hospital and back to work!" Phillips exclusively tells E! News. "Looking forward to the future."
Well, the 21-year-old from Leesburg, Ga., who battled a kidney ailment throughout Idol's just-concluded 11th season and was just released from the hospital yesterday afternoon, certainly needs to rest up before heading out on tour this summer.
Phillips is expected to make the American Idols Live opener on July 6 in Detroit with the rest of the this year's top 10 contestants—and he's booked for all 45 shows.
