“New Girl” star Zooey Deschanel is “So You Think You Can Dance’s” first celebrity judge of Season 9. She’ll be joining the show for its 200th episode when this year’s Top 20 contestants are introduced on Wednesday, June 27. FOX confirmed the news to Zap2it on Thursday (June 21). Deschanel is a natural go-to girl since she’s the star of one of of FOX’s latest hits. She’s also an accomplished singer who will be making her Broadway debut as Loretta Lynn in a stage adaptation of “Coal Miner’s Daughter.” Zooey will join regular judges Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy behind the judges’ table for a particularly competitive Green Mile. This will be her first stint as a judge for the show.
