Main man, Rob Swire, had tweeted postive news in January - when the band were celebrating a decade since their formation - saying, "It's not the end - we might try to get a record out some time in 2013, and @elhornet will be more than armed for the DJ sets til then."
However looks like all has changed.
He's now added "There will be no further Pendulum live shows. There are no current plans for a new album in 2013" to the information box on his official Twitter account along with a link to the official website for Knife Party - his side project withPendulum bandmate Gareth McGrillen.
Swire later tweeted that the reaction to the news has been less than positive - with many people calling him "selfish".
"Lol...wow, everyone loves things more when they're gone, I guess. The Kurt Cobain effect," he responded.
It's thought the other two members will continue to DJ under the name.
