第一年的新生必须住学校宿舍(明摆着抢钱, 外面租房便宜好多), 有两种选择.一种是University Residence Halls.
一种是Private Certified Housing.
先说前一种. 据学校官网上说, 大部分的新生住University Residence Halls.
房型有单人, 双人, 三人房. 最常见的一种房型是双人的, 床有上下铺和呈直角状并排放的, 从图片上看床不大, 和中学住宿的床差不多. 然后就是一人一套桌椅, 书橱, 衣柜什么的. 房间没有独 立卫生间和浴室, 厕所是一层楼一个的, 洗澡也是的, 听说是一层楼共6个独 立的淋浴间.
然后就是几个Halls的特点和情况,
1)Ikenberry Commons North Residence Halls
包括Barton, Forbes, Garner, Hopkins, Lundgren, Nugent
和紧挨在旁边的Ikenberry Commons South Residence Halls
包括Scott, Snyder, Taft-Van Doren, Weston
这片宿舍位于校区的西南方向, 绰号6 Pack. 原因大家看看校园地图就知道了. 附近有一个刚刚新建好的食堂, 而且离Activities and Recreation Center也很近, 那可是锻炼身体的好地方. 喜爱健身的这里是个好去处.
这里一大特点是美国本地人多, 如果你是个热爱Party的人, 这可以说是圣地了. 以下是一个美国学长告诉我关于这片宿舍的介绍: (下面用红字写的都是)
The 6 pack has a reputation for a lot of drinking (hence its name) and more of a party atmosphere due to its proximity to the frat/sorority houses and the stadiums.
所以, 喜欢学习的别选这里啊!
2)Allen Hall
Allen Hall位于学校东边, 貌似艺术人才比较多.
Allen Hall people are really into culture, music, art, politics, etc... they're sort of the "intellectuals" and/or "hippies."

3)Florida Avenue Residence Halls (Oglesby, Trelease)和 Pennsylvania Avenue Residence Halls (Babcock, Blaisdell, Carr, Saunders)
前者是个高层宿舍,在东南方, 貌似比较新一点, 有空调. 后者是低层的, 没空调. 这两个离得比较近, 所以特点也差不多. 就是Diversity! 来自世界各地的人都有, 自然少不了中国人.
PAR and FAR don't have any strong reputation like the others, but I lived there in FAR myself, so I can tell you that PAR and FAR are very diverse. They have a large minority of international students (from many different countries around the world), and in terms of the Americans they have a lot of black, white as well as Asian Americans, unlike the other dorms which are mostly white or white+Asian.
所以, 如果你想找中国熟人, 或是想认识些外国友人, 为中国外交做贡献就来这里吧!
4)Illinois Street Residence Halls (Townsend, Wardall)
位于校园东北方, 有空调. 据说读书用功的人比较多.
ISR has a reputation for being more studious/serious (but perhaps a little boring.)
所以热爱学习的就来这里! 官网上说Due to reassignment by continuing residents, space for new students is limited. 所以想定的同学要抓紧了!
5) Busey-Evans Residence Halls
Lincoln Avenue Residence Halls
这两个是纯女生宿舍, 因为我是男生, 了解的不多.不好意思.
