This is terrible. They keep using "statistic" to defend that our surrounding neighborhood is safe while it is not safe. No student deserves to be robbed or killed! Some student organizations should lead protest for security improvement. The street illuminance level is so low that you can't see the face of the person walking by you at night. Street lights are buried inside trees that are not maintained properly. This is a terrible incident that comes not unexpected. It doesn't matter what the nationality the victims are, or what kind of car they were driving. Students got robbed for a cell phone or a notebook computer in this area happens almost weekly. Almost all grad and undergrad students carry a notebook computer everyday, no one should blame them for tragedy like this.

What a horrible tragedy. These kids were doing everything right. And while crime is down near SC, any Los Angeleno will tell you that walking around that neighborhood at night is risky business....USC, the LAPD and the City MUST do more to address the disease of crime that plagues black neighborhoods. That we even HAVE ghettos or near-ghettos in this country in 2012 is a crime! When are people going to see that until we invest on the FRONT end, we are going to pay FAR more on the back end...

Very,very sad. As an SC student I went through a similar attack many years ago. My attackers also bungled their assault. By the Grace of God I lived throught the attack.
Justice prevailed in my case in that the perps where quickly caught by our law enforcement officers, prosecuted, and convicted.
I hope all good persons who hear about this crime will call for justice for these student victims and that
whoever did this is captured quickly as I know is possible. Please pray for their families.

It seems sadder when international students are involved. I am not a mother, but I can not imagine how the parents must feel to find out that their child was killed overseas; so far from home and family. I would not want to be the person to make that call to the parents in China.
我得澄清一点，这两位学生所开的宝马不是新车，而是二手车，市值10000美元，比国内卖的许多的新车便宜得多，根本就不是富二代。国内的媒体一上来就： 两名中国留学生在洛杉一辆宝马车内被枪杀。国人的仇富仇官还有各种变态的思想百分之80都要 归罪与我们的媒体。
LA times评论我就不翻了，相信各位都看得懂，如果你觉得我断章取义，那你可以自己去看，两边几乎都是一边倒的观点，我们网民无非是3种评论，1围观看闹 2冷嘲热讽 3拍手叫好，但只有少部分表示同情的，LAtimes 的网民则是 1.逝者安息 2.加强校园安全管理 3.严惩凶手。国人的观念到底要扭曲到何时。
