Before directing Hugh Jackman in "Prisoners," Denis Villeneuve will helm the indie "An Enemy" with Jake Gyllenhaal in negotiations to star. Javier Gullón is penning the adaptation based on the novel "The Double" by Jose Saramago. The story revolves around a dysfunctional history teacher who accidentally discovers his exact double on a rented DVD, seeks him out and ends up turning both of their lives upside down. Niv Fichman of Rhombus Media will produce along with Miguel Angel Faura of Roxbury Pictures, in association with Mecanismo Films in Madrid. Alliance Films will distribute in Canada and Pathé in the U.K. and France. Pathé will also handle international sales. Villeneuve will likely shoot "Enemy" before "Prisoners" as Jackman is now busy filming Universal's "Les Miserables." Gyllenhaal would play two roles in the film, described by sources as "dark and edgy." Gyllenhaal just finished production on the gritty cop drama "End of Watch." He'd also been considering the revenge thriller "Motor City" but a deal could not be worked out and he had to pass. The WME-repped Gyllenhaal was most recently seen in Summit's "Source Code." Open Road bows "End of Watch" on Sept. 28. Villeneuve is repped by CAA and Claude Girard.

时光网讯 关于杰克·吉伦哈尔是否能真正加盟《汽车城》始终没有定论，之前又有消息报道杰瑞米·雷纳或者会顶替他加盟本片。而杰克·吉伦哈尔方面同样传出新的拍摄动向，如今他正在考虑加盟另一部惊悚电影《敌人》（An Enemy）。
　　影片根据葡萄牙文学大师，诺贝尔文学奖得主若泽·萨拉马戈的小说《The Double》改编，讲述一个刚刚离异、沮丧的历史老师Tertuliano的故事。他的同事建议他去租些DVD，借电影忘记当前的烦恼，他却意外发现片中的男主角长得就像五年前的自己，并且同样留着大胡子，于是他考虑寻求真相……
　　若泽·萨拉马戈曾有多部作品改变成电影，最知名的则是2008年的那部《盲流感》，还曾成为戛纳电影节开幕影片。本片将由《魔岛迷踪》的编剧哈维尔·古隆负责剧本改编工作。加拿大导演丹尼斯·维伦纽瓦担任导演，他在2010年的影片《焦土之城》曾获得当年奥斯卡最佳外语片的提名。
　　据悉，杰克·吉伦哈尔将在片中一人分饰两角。

In a strange twist, his double also appears to be about five years younger, complete with a mustache. Could there by some time travel going on here? Either way, it sounds like an interesting story to me, especially since The Boston Globe apparently called it a "wonderfully twisted meditation on identity and individuality." It sounds like it might have flares of Source Code with its sci-fi sort of story, but since it's an indie, the budget likely won't allow for such huge action set pieces. The film will likely be shot before Prisoners goes before cameras as Jackman is busy shooting Les Miserables currently. Sound good?

imdb老吉专页下An Enemy已经列上了，但加了个背书，说现阶段还只是谣言。不过既然imdb都列出来了，应该有几分把握吧？上次那个moto city啥的imdb就没有列哟~快点传出好消息吧

According to Pop Goes the News, filming on An Enemy begins in Toronto on 22 May, and so it's likely Jake is in the city for some pre-production. Here's hoping that involves a quick shaved and haircut. It will be interesting to learn who the other cast members will be although, obviously, Jake's co-star in this film is Jake Gyllenhaal. Let's hope they get along.
