Darin grew up. He is no longer that 16-year-old strippling with braces who brought mother and father's feelings in the adult Swedish population and hysteria among the girls (and some boys). Today, he swam to face with great white sharks, go to a party to travel to the U.S. and the audience at his last gig was all over 20 years.
But he still feels very homegrown and like a true mother's dream. How much "bad" Darin must do to be a little more "bad boy"?
It all started with Idol. Finally got the 16-year-old music lover to show what he was.
- With hindsight, it feels totally sick that it was so big. It had no idea then, it was the first season, says Darin.
Milestone number two was when he released his second album.
- There were many who said it would not work to release two albums in the same year, there was no one who did so. But I did it anyway and the plate was better than the first. I did what I believed in and it worked, I'm really proud.
The third milestone was Darin's concert at the Centre where he built up a huge scene and extinguished the entire train station.
- It was the kind of concert that I always wanted to do, a real dream thing.
Then came Darin to Germany and became popular there. He was no longer the little guy who broke through braces adorned in Idol, but there he was 'just' an artist.
- It was a proof that I make good music properly. I got a different image, they saw me more as a grown man.
Single - but hopefully not for long
Darin cleats up a personal ad, under slight constraint, of course.

Last year, Darin on the journey of discovery in Brazil, where he suddenly stood face to face with a great white shark during a dive trip. Then he played on a real hell of a party to travel to the United States. In his luggage, he has a speeding which led to his loss of license.
