The crowded room of celebrities on Monday night had an agenda when they came together. It was the launch for the Americans for Marriage Equality today at the Calvin Klein Collection store in New York City. Neil Patrick Harris, Courtney Love, and other prominent celebrities showed up hoping to raise awareness for nationwide marriage rights for gays and lesbians. Some of the stars on hand included Jerry Seinfeld, Robert De Niro and Julianne Moore.
The campaign, spearheaded by the Human Rights Campaign, had the support of celebrities as they shared the moment with their fans and used resources like Tw and Facebook to remind people equality is important.
Americans for Marriage Equality todaycampaign kicked off on Monday and the intention is to find nationwide equality. Part of the program includes videos of influential people explaining their support of marriage equality, including Mo’Nique, John Leguizamo and Julian Bond.
