Luck and Chances Are the
Crucial Element of Success
It’s definitely that to be successful need hard working and it’s not
an over-night success. But it doesn’t mean luck has nothing to do with success
in our life. I believe that luck and chance are the crucial element of success.
First of all, we know that the capability is the base of success,
but there would be someone more capable comparing with you. Then how can we be
unique from the crowd? How can we be successful? Of course, we need some luck!
For instance, my favorite singer Gary Barlow is the one who works hard and who
is lucky that he get a chance to become the great star in UK. Trace back to the
time when he was a young kid, part of the ordinary masses of the children who is
standing before the television and imitating the dancing moves and the songs. He
got interest of the song performed on the TV madly and he decided to sing and
play that song. So on the Christmas, he chose a piano for gift. Same with the


other children who are interested in music, he spent lots of time in practicing
playing the piano and the vocal. However, fortunately, he got a beautiful
voice! This is talent and it’s a part of luck. Then, he entered a competition
and won the trophy with his favorite song that he always practiced. On that tournament,
he came across with a man who latterly became his agent. This guy found that
Gary got “a voice of angel”, so he tried to hold a boy band. By performing in
public for the charity and doing hundreds of interview, they finally let girls and
also boys shout for their perfect harmony and amazing melody. Their band, Take
That now becomes the greatest and most popular band after Beatles! “Now, when I
look backward, I still feel lucky because I met him!” Maybe there are plenty of
people who got talent, but without someone who enlightens them, they will just
be a plain person.
The target is success, the base is hard working and the key is the chance.
Let me give you a typical example. The law of gravitation is well-known all
over the world. This research result didn’t come to us with the overwhelming
work, but with the apple which just fell down by chance. Newton discovered the
law in a flash of inspiration! What a fortune! We can’t doubt that Newton did
study for a really long time, but what if the apple did not fall from the
branch? What if Newton wasn’t setting under the tree? Maybe we won’t learn this
part from the physical books, even we are still confused about why we can’t
fly, but just walk on the road. The second when the apple fell down is the key
that lead Newton to success, lead him to explore the gravity of Earth.
Now, I think you get the point clearly, luck play a big role of
success! Because Gary’s agent enlightens him, because Newton was inspired from
the apple, therefore they got a great accomplishment. In a nutshell, most of us
are devoting to what we dream to be, the undoubted thing is we all need chance
while we are on the way to the glorious destination.
