ALso I have to admit I was wrong, I mentioned before [Misinterpreting what I said about it literally being 2x stronger than any steel its same thickness] this is wrong. Ill explain.
The layered armor asstated was stronger than any 1 BHN steel but was only stronger by 25% to hard 340+BHN steel and onlt 20% stronger than pure 210 BHn Steel...But what it did do was make it use peak performance on both HE and AP.
Lets take the M46 and T54 Lets say M46 has sameslope and thickness and al that changes is steel BHN rating.
Lets say M46 has 100mm@ 60 and T54 has 100mm @ 60
M46 has 210 BHn steel and is relatively soft which makes the metal give and bend and goes with HE/Heat rounds [since lower BHN also melts way faster but cools almost instantly stopping most Jet bursts]
So M46 has effective 200mm because slope and deflects [mostly heat/HE rounds], Now fire Ap rounds through it and its 20% weaker meaning 160mm effective, America was gonna change but thought heat was the future so they kept it, this is also alot better vs RPG`s etc and saves multiple crews because panels welds dont break [they are weakest point] and crush or burn entire crew or worse pop off welds and heat their and burn out the crews lungs.
Now with the 300 BHN+ 200mm Effective it is very hard alot harder than the weld and rivet points which become a problem if the entire surface area is attacked, but is so strong that it allows the tiny AP round with a solid core to either bounce the shot or slow it and crack the Armor plate itelf [being brittle] Note this is always ALWAYS HARDER ON THE CREWS BODIES its like wearing a cast iron suit and getting shot vs Kevlar 1 dissipates shock the other deflects but puts all the Joules in 1 tiny area shaking the crews up alot [USSR tankers had hi rate of traumatic spinal DMG and complete hearing loss] But when heat rounds come in they rely on the metal armor not changing form, a shaped charge as well needs a tight seal and since the panel wont budge at all it provides a perfect surface to melt or pop entire panel off, where as soft gave in to the blast and dented the armor.
So Hard steel protects vs hard rounds [for the tank not crew] and is 100% effective but loses 25% vs HE/Heat rounds for being to brittle and easily melted, and Soft Metals do great vs HE/Heat as they dont provide a "Seal" for the shaped charge or molten jet to shoot in straight [alot of times the armor would bend so bad on US tanks the Molten jet would shoot straight up or stright down, and alot of times not melt anything since the softer metal melted to fast and recooled.
So back to point rather than the Glas Armor being 3 plates of 300+BHN or 210 BHN they were 1st layer hard 400+ BHN to immediately defelect hardrounds and ifround Pen`d it would hit an even harder Glass Armor that shattered in a tiny spot but was 1550 BHN rating but was unique in the fact that the rounds friction melted it and deformed the hardened round, so at first it met the harder BHn material than the AP round and if it still got through melted and degraded the round, lastly the layer of 210 BHn steel was there to absorb the extra force like a kevlar vest so the crews suffered no shock damage.

So independently eahc has a flaw but it layers it is 200% more effective vs ALL TYPES OF ROUNDS but we cant forget that out of 150mm of Hull only 50mm was t54 type steel 50mm was glass and 50mm was M48 type steel, so in reality Equal armor to equal armor the T110`ssilica mixed layerd armor MM to MM was about 25% Stronger but it was 20% lighter and best of all was superior to every round you could use and had no weakspots [except rear turret]
So I went over this for 2 hours last night with my buddy, hes 86 but has a mind of a 20 year old, do plasma cutting for him and he tells me anything I want to know about WOT
He said compared to the other tanks if he had to convert raw 250 BHN Steel to Glass Armor [Whic they did many testes on until cermaics came into pla with Abrams] these are his stats
Lastly slope actually hurt slightly the Glass section so these numbers aregonna bedifferant because since 2/3rds was steel the 60 degree slope was chosen, but the Glass loses 30% of its effectiveness.
These stts changed in RL all the time he said but the T110a16 was the 16th revision and he said was a masterpiece.
Hull upper with slope 225
Hull Lower 240 [it actually was 4 degrees more angle, so opposite German.
Sides 165mm effective [Since Glass was less sloped it added to its strength]
Rear Hull 100mm [He said they never thought about it since it was so fast for a MBT/Heavy]
Turret Front [Was just ridiculous]
Very bouncy angles @ 250mm Mantlet he guessed= 400mmish [also glass]
With slope in some areas like those rolling sides its 74 Degrees@180mm thick lol so he guessed around 360mm but with 70 degrees from front its hard to see anything hit it.
Basically the Turret besides 2 tiny parts by upper hull/Turret ring is invulnerable.
Direct sides
120mm with only 30 Degrees so he guessed 190ish
Rear
Bad part was basically 250mm thick but no glass and very hard steel to be heavier so , he said since we mounted our guns from the gun looking down and 6 metal case hardened [1900 BHN Dowels] that a hit from HE could actually rip off the turret because the counterweight holding the massive 120mm wouldnt be in place plus the sheer force from the round hitting, it could break the hydro motor that angled gun down, break handcrank and bust out the dowels to blow off the turret front ways.
Based off the engine they wanted in it with the long stroke and the new Electronic assisted Tranny`s he predicted 42-46 kmh, wit ha huge acceration but a massive drop in sever offroad since the gun was so long and once again the gun aiming down was the tanks problems, so he thiks 30kmh off roud oat fastest on rough ground.
He said it could turn on a dime and was only 20% slower than M48 and thats 120mm weight and the larger rounds.
I know its been long but this IMO is the real deal and as good a guess as anyone living in the world couldgive.

Also he said they used to hit beer cans @ 600 meters with the 120mm it was so accurate he also said he saw a test where they penned 3/4 on a 250mm Plate at 600 meters, but the US Army`s Pen Numbers were at the range you hit 4 for 4 but he says the 221mm is crap.
So sounds like me it should handle like a Panther In game except better dime turning, have 230ish Hull Armor, with sides of 170mm with rear of 100ish
Turret should be Impenetrable from front [except gun] with 190 sides and a huge chance for gun to be taken out from back...More than other tanks.
Id think a .32 Accuracy with a 280mm Pen and [email protected] ROf Gun is fair [3k DPM] and a -10 Depression with extra 4 degrees but while shooting that far down can receive 3x more chance of gun dmg, since you could handcrank depression for emergencies because gun was taken out of tank by Depressing it to the max and pulling it off with a crane after removing 6 very strong 3 inch dowel/Bolt style pins, so if you went to low and fired the turret wasnt absorbing shock but only the 6 Pins and once they were bent it didnt/couldnt shoot straight.
50 tons @840 HP.
This sound like alot somewhat but it is gonna be US`s bread and butter and hey i twas this good, and it by far has weakspots that it needs to get punished for harshly if hit in.

He is 86 I think and Im picking his brain since he had the job of testing ours and enemies tanks to fight communists for along time including being on M103 Project an M60 and Early Abrams, also he was one who consulted on T110.
So in my mind we should get a very evenly Armored larger M46 with a 120mm gun that is 20% slower in Accel and a speed of 42 on flat ground, but it for sure should be a super Medium/MBT
