At the end of the episode when Grissom and Dr. Gilbert are conversing in sign language, Grissom is telling Dr. Gilbert that his mother was deaf, and that she taught him that her deafness was a gift, not a disability. Dr. Gilbert then replies that she teaches her students the same lesson.
