With her trademark snarl and “street” attitude, the X Factor audience knew they were in for something different the minute she auditioned last year.
Love or detest her, Cher Lloyd is a force to be reckoned with and she says her critics should stop listening if they don't like what they're hearing – because she won't stop until she has a 本特利 like Simon Cowell.
“Critics are always going to be there no matter what you do,” she says. “I never expected everyone to love my music. I just ignore anyone that doesn't like it – they don't have to listen. I'm not stopping until I have a 本特利 like Simon has got – how cool would that be?”
But it's fair to say that it's not going to be all plain sailing for the star, who this week celebrated her 18th birthday by “downing a few shots and dancing in a club”.

She was never going to be your typical X Factor puppet. “I don't even feel like an X Factor contestant to start with,” she says. “There's no way I could have released anything that wasn't true to me.
“I don't really see myself as being famous. I'm just well-known. I'm coping well with it all, I think. My whole life has changed, but I'm learning something new every day.
“I'm no big drama – I just get on with it and don't care. I don't expect too much and in return don't expect too much from me.”
She's keen to put straight rumours that she's already getting too big for her boots, saying: “I don't even have an entourage.
“It's usually just me and my manager Georgie. We keep everything pretty low-key, there's certainly not loads of people running around after me.”

Now the singer's new-found fame is turning her family's fortunes around too. She reveals how she has bought her dad a car and other presents for various family members. She also admits to being in a serious relationship, although she won't say who he is: “I'm revealing nothing more at this stage.”
She says she will definitely be tuning in to this year's X Factor, and believes the new judging panel of Gary Barlow, Tulisa Contostavlos, Kelly Rowland and Louis Walsh will be a huge success. “I actually think it will be brilliant this year. I think Tulisa will bring a different edge.
“Hopefully people saw me reach the finals with something a bit different and that might inspire them to enter this year.”
She admits she barely keeps in touch with her rivals from last year, saying: “I'm really only in touch with Mary. We text all the time. She gives me advice and we talk about lots of personal stuff. She's been a good friend to me.”
Cher says she knows what this year's show needs. Giggling, she suggests: “Do you know what I'd love? A whole load of Chers in a girl band – that would be fantastic!” Whether the viewers would want that remains to be seen.
But one thing's for sure, Cher isn't going to stop until she gets that 本特利...
