The song's about love,but the eponymous Scientist refers to the A&R man who signed Coldplay to Parlophone,Dan Keeling.
2.Viva La Vida
Coldplay were accused of stealing the melody from Joe Satriani,among others.Chris Martin joked in response."If everyone's trying to take away our best song,then we'd better write 25 better ones.

Chris Martin wrote this song on a keyboard his father-in-law Bruce Paltrow had purchased just before his death as a present for Martin's daughter,Apple.

The original version,titled "Panic" and played at their very first gig,had a different melody and recounted a "slightly disastrous evening Chris had spent entertaining a lady called Alice Hill."
