最近阿森纳主帅温格跟巴萨核心哈维起了口头纠纷，导火索是后者一再声称法布雷加斯想要回到巴塞罗那踢球，他在阿森纳过得非常糟糕。这些言论激怒了温格，法国人批评以哈维为首的巴萨球员对阿森纳缺乏必要的尊重，同样也没有尊重法布雷加斯。
《天空体育》：皮克为哈维辩解否认不尊重阿森纳
作为队友，皮克出面为哈维辩护，称当一个球员陷入转会传闻时，自然而然地会发生这种情况。当然，皮克也不想得罪温格，更不希望巴萨和阿森纳因为此事闹翻。于是，他代表巴萨球员向温格做出了保证，在小法确定去留前，绝对不会再以公开方式诱惑起加盟。
近两个夏天，几乎半数以上的巴萨球员都曾公开劝说法布雷加斯回归巴萨，就连主教练瓜迪奥拉也聊起了小法加盟巴萨后可以与哈维共存的话题。然而越是如此，阿森纳强留队长的决心也就越大，直到现在，转会还八字没一撇。
“巴塞罗那从来尊重任何俱乐部，而作为球员的我们，也绝不会说不尊重任何人，”皮克出面为哈维辩护。“哈维没有不尊重阿森纳，他只是简单表达了自己的看法。我想当一名球员对未来充满疑虑时，不可避免地会陷入这种局面，因为你真的不知道下个赛季将在哪里踢球。所以，我认为有些话根本不涉及尊重二字。”
同时，皮克愿意充当和事老，希望这次小冲突可以化解，并向温格保证再也不会公开谈起有关法布雷加斯转会的话题。“我清楚现在的情形，是的，我们应该让小法独立地进行思考，而不是给他制造麻烦，我们需要耐心，”皮克解释说。“或许把这件事解决还需要一段很长的时间，多说无益，言语起不到任何作用。”

Pique on Cesc, Xavi and Sánchez
Gerard Pique spent his last day of vacation attending the first anniversary of the ‘Penya Gerard Pique’ in Sant Guim de Freixenet (Lleida). While there, he made some statements concerning the Cesc transfer and Xavi’s comments, as well as the possible arrival of Alexis Sanchez.
Pique acknowledged that he had spoken with Cesc: “I know how the situation is but I believe that we should leave Cesc alone and to wait for time to pass … The summer is very long, this is being spoken of a lot and that doesn’t help,” he commented. He also noted that even if no one come to Barça this summer, nothing negative will happen to the team that is already the reigning Liga and Champions League winners.
Gerard Piqué has spoken about Wenger’s criticism of Xavi’s comments regarding Cesc, after the Arsenal coach declared that Barça’s midfielder was being disrespectful with his words about the future of Fabregas.
“Barça and the players have always spoken with a lot of respect. Any player suffers when there is so much talk about his future and by the restlessness of not knowing where he will play [the next season]. Saying that does not show disrespect to anyone,” he stated.
Barça’s ’3′ learned about the elimination of Argentina in the Copa America on Sunday after landing at El Prat. “Messi certainly wanted to win the Copa America. He now should try to recover. Sure it’s a big blow but he will be able to get back up. I expect that he will recover all the forces that make him the best player in the world. Here we are well accustomed [to Messi's abilities].”
The Catalan player also noted that he is “eager to begin and to prepare for the coming season which will be very complicated … Returning and winning the Club World Cup would be very good for the club,” which he said is one of his goals for this season.
Finally, Pique has also endorsed the possible arrival of Alexis Sánchez, whom he knows from Spain’s match against Chile in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
“I know about the potential he has, he is very good in the one on one, he’s a young player and with [him joining] us, we’d be great,” declared Pique. On the possibility of Sánchez replacing Bojan in the squad, Pique stated that he hopes the situation “is resolved as soon as possible.”
