Get the facts on wolves1.Where do they live?Wolves live in the northern half of the world, on three continents: Europe ,Asia and North America. They are very adaptable(能适应的;能适用的): they can live in forests, on open plains(平原;草原), or in the snows of the Arctic(北极;北极圈).2.What are they like? They resemble(相似) big dogs, with long legs, a wide head and thick fur. In fact, all of our domestic(家庭的;驯服的) dogs probably came from wolves, many years ago. They are about 1.5 to 2 metres long, and are about three-quarters of a metre in height. Provided that a wolf gets enough food, it will weigh about 40-50 kilogrames.3.What do they eat?Wolves usually eat small mammals(哺乳动物) such as mice, rabbits and deer(鹿果;鹿果树). But they also hunt together to try to kill bigger animals such as moose(驼鹿) and musk oxen. If they catch and kill a big animal, they eat as much as they can. Then they may not eat for up to two weeks. If they are very hungry, they eat berries(浆果) and seeds.4.What is their family life like?Wolves live in groups, which are called packs. There are about 6-8 wolves in a pack. Only one pair of wolves will produce cubs(幼兽), but all the members of the pack will help to feed and look after the cubs, If any danger threatens the cubs, the whole pack will protect the youngsters.5.Are they dangerous to people? The wolf has a reputation(名誉, 名声) as a fierce(凶猛的, 猛烈的) animal, and in many stories and films it attacks people. However, the truth is different. There is no proof(证据) that a wild wolf has ever harmed a human being, If you were in a forest and saw a wolf, it would run away from you.打的我累死了^^^^^^^^
