He longed to free himself. Thus, when the opportunity arose, he sold his soul to Davy Jones to be free from his watery prison. The Aztec curse was later lifted from him, but because he owes Jones his soul he must serve aboard the Flying Dutchman. In the film, he is reunited with his son, Will. He is happy that his son carried on the family legacy, and tells him how to get the key to the Dead Man's Chest. He also tells Will that if the heart within is stabbed, Davy Jones will die and he and the rest of the crew will be freed.大家一起感慨吧……
