Cannes You Read My Mind?
你能读出我的心声吗？


Directly inland from the river mouth is a gap in the foothills that affordthis section of the beach an extra hour of sunlight. At 8:30pm the sun is stilla full sphere whereas families either direction down the beach have alreadypacked up and retreated from the dying of the light. In the far northeastcorner of the horizon I can see the snow covered alps. I wished for it, butdoubt they could see my jaw drop when I discovered them. To a mountain I mustbe as unimportant as an eye booger, easily brushed away as crustyinsignificance. Mountains only appreciate climbers and skiers, those whomassage its stiff shoulders and fully appreciate the contours of its body. Ifonly mountains knew of the Bob Ross’ and Ansel Adams’ of the world. I thinkthey’d be flattered to see their majesty shrunk down to fit on canvas andpaper.
河流入海口处的丘陵上的空隙，恰恰可以让我这一片沙滩多享受一个小时的日光。晚上8点半了在这里还能看到满满的太阳，而两旁的人家接收不到日光已经收拾打点回到屋里了。在遥远的北方地平线上，可以看到被白雪覆盖的阿尔卑斯山。我盼望着它，但是怀疑它有没有注意到我刚刚看到它时掉到地上的下巴。对山来说我是最最微不足道的了，就像一粒眼屎一般，轻扫一下就消影无踪了。山只会去赏识那些在它僵硬的肩膀上按摩的登山者们还有懂得鉴赏山体轮廓的滑雪者们。如果山们知道Bob Ross（风景油画家）和Ansel Adams（自然摄影师）就好了。我觉得山们看到自己雄伟的身姿缩小在油画布或者纸张上会感到由衷的高兴。
