On love, in Studio.
录音室里酝酿的爱
Today I’m at 68 songs and still counting. Of those,many could be combined to make an album, or two. I guess my hang-up is thatabove a well crafted song, the message must amount to something. It’s got to bepure. I ask myself, Are these words that I can wear on stage every night? Dothey give me chill bumps? I’d say a quarter of my catalogue does, but even inthose I fear the overall tempos are too slow and the topic of love, love lost,love found again, lost again, and gratitude for the whole journey, are stillclambering for a main event; something that will tie the whole thing together -that one or two songs that will umbrella all the rest. In the meantime I presson. If 68 sounds like a lot. It is. But I wrote 80 for We Sing. Some artistslike Springsteen show up with 100 and that still may not be enough. I standfirmly in “everything is perfect.” I breathe and see that I am already equippedwith everything I need to have the time of my life, and are in fact having it.
至今为止我为我的新专辑写了68首歌了，数字还在不断上升。从这些歌里，选出一张或者两张专辑是没问题的。我猜让我还没有放出专辑的原因是，除了精心雕琢的歌曲之上，我希望自己可以通过它们传播更深刻的含义。而且这个含义一定要是纯洁无瑕疵的。我问自己，这些歌词是我可以每天晚上演出时一直唱下去的吗？它们让我起鸡皮疙瘩吗？我敢说四分之一的歌曲能达到这种效果，但是在这些歌曲里我还是害怕它们的节奏太慢或者关于爱，失去爱，找回爱，再次失去爱，以及整个路途中的感激这些主题的歌还没能达成一定高度的主题；还缺少一些能够把全部的方方面面都凝合起来的东西——一首或者两首能够罩住其他所有歌的歌曲。于是在此同时我继续写歌。如果68首听起来很多的话，确实如此。我为We Sing，We Dance，We Steal Things写了80首歌。有些像是Springsteen的艺术家写100首也不嫌多。我深信“一切都是完美的”。我呼吸并相信自己可以慢慢享受我生命中的最好时光，因为我已经具备这样做所需的一切条件了。

Though I’m breathing the air in Los Angeles a lot morethese days, I’m taking a break from anything toxic – at least until my lateJune birthday or beyond. No wine, weed, or women. Not that my ladyfriend istoxic is any way, but certainly my lust for her has been. Lately, I’d beenputting the dick in addicted. I am grateful for her encouragement, patience,wisdom and unconditional love. I take this on humbly, with no pressurewhatsoever, in love with how my album is unfolding, how Toca and I are improving,how my balance poses reveal to me I have lots of work to do, AND how fortunateI am that all my problems are luxurious and grand.
尽管我回到Los Angeles已经有一段时间了，我把自己和一切有毒的东西都保持距离——至少一直到我6月份的生日之后。不沾酒，不嗑药，不近女色。不是因为我的女友任何程度上有毒，而是我肯定自己对她的贪欲一定是有毒的。近来我一直在禁欲。我对她的鼓励，耐心，智慧和无条件的爱感到感激。我谦逊地，没有任何压力地，接受和爱上了新专辑的逐渐成形，我和Toca的进步，还需要练习的平衡姿态（瑜伽名词），以及我的幸运——我的所有难题都那么的奢侈壮观。


I am also grateful for you and your friendship in thisforum. Every conversation I read is inspiring and your patience and generositybetween albums is carrying me to make it the best collection songs ever.
我同时也感激在这个平台上的你们和你们的友谊。每一个我读到的对话都是启发灵感的。你们在每张专辑之间的耐心和慷慨让我能够完成有史以来最棒的专辑。

虽然自己和大家一样等新专辑等得心焦，但是还是希望给马叔多点时间空间，耐心恒心！
说实话现在的音乐界还有多少歌手会为一张专辑写七，八十首歌？这样出来的作品，能不是经典么？！
