'My love' is the title song among the love songs. Did you pick the song as the title .because Jay Park featured the song? Dok2: No. I had thought the song would be the title if I released my first EP without a doubt.I had a feeling that I started to play the piano. 'This is the title(laugh)' That was 2009. At that time, I already made my mind,
even I was in Map The Soul, I had thought 'My love' would be the title for my official EP after Thunderground EP. But some people criticized the song (at that time I wasn't in Map The Soul anymore). They said this kind of song never be successful in Korea even though the song was about love. But I've been always sturbbon. I made my mind that I wud pick the song as the title and make people . know there's that kind of a song as well. The song has a history like that. So it's totally wrong that the song was picked as the title just because Jay featured.
Hipple: You met Jay with MYK and Dumfoundead during the US tour. That's amazing and it's a surprise that you and Jay have worked together starting with 'Doin' Good'. Dok2: I've been intersted in and liked him for a long time. I mean, I am interested in Korean-Americans a lot cuz I haven't lived like typical Korean life as well. When he debuted as a leader of 2PM, media said he was doing bboying, choreographing, writing raps himself. So I got more interest and I watched a reality show. He wasn't like any other . idol singers. When he did his individual skill he rapped with his own writing while other idol singers were doing vocal mimicry.In his rap, he said he's from Seattle, shouted out AOM like crazy. I was surprised. There's one more thing he made me surprised that there's a song that Nabi sang and Crown J featured. One day, Jay was with Nabi and rapped with his writing when Crown J couldn't be I was surprised because that's not a thing that idols could do. I remember that I talked to DoubleK there's a great singer who had a hiphop mind. For these reasons I wanted to work with him. Everyone who is close to me knows this story . As u said I met him during the tour. First, I was nervous cuz I liked him a lot(giggle).I brought my album to give him too. When I met Jay he knew I was in Allblack(dok2 was in that group long ago). So it was easy to talk to him. Jay came to Korea to shoot a film since then we've been close each other keeping touch. We also have common that we don't drink or smoke(giggle ) Hipple: There are many people who think your popularity or awareness has been buit just because since u worked with Jay.
I admit that it was priming, but you are the one who has worked really hard than anyone else.(laugh)
Dok2: I really wanna say this thing through the interview. It's true that Jay's fans are supporting me. And because of them it's better atmosphere in HipHop scene I think. But if my music is disappointing I don't think they would come to the concert only . because I worked with Jay. Thunderground show was the only show that I listed his name officially on the list.But still they came to the shows, and sang along the songs that I had posted as song lists. And they recorded and took pictures of me. I think it's not the instant popularity that I gained working with Jay but Jay and I are good relationship making synergy effect Others could get intersts from people if they worked with Jay or other singers who have a certain fandom. But if they give only disappointing music and no charisma to the people. They hardly buy album and come to the shows. I want u to know these things
