Last year, Lady Antebellum broke Rascal Flatts‘ seven year streak as Top Vocal Group at the Academy of Country Music Awards. On Sunday, Lady A received the title for the second consecutive year, only this time Rascal Flatts wasn’t even nominated.
“It was very weird,” Charles Kelley said backstage. “I honestly couldn’t believe that they weren’t in the category. “I don’t necessarily agree that they should have been out of it. They deserve to be in that category every year. They are one of the biggest groups, if not the biggest group in country music.”
“And a huge influence of ours,” adds Hillary Scott.
Kelley agrees adding, “and friends of ours and I think they should have been in it for sure.”
We agree with Lady A; Rascal Flatts definitely deserved a nomination. What do you think?
