Is Benedict Broadway bound?
Benedict Cumberbatch, star of Sherlock Holmes on TV, is in talks to make his Broadway debut.
The actor, who can be seen at the Olivier playing the creature and his creator in Danny Boyle’s sold-out production of Frankenstein, has begun preliminary discussions with New York producer Stuart Thompson about leading Thea Sharrock’s National Theatre production of Terence Rattigan’s After The Dance to Manhattan next spring.
Negotiations have been described to me as being ‘very serious’, and Cumberbatch is keen to play on Broadway but wants his fellow performers Nancy Carroll and Adrian Scarborough — both of whom won Olivier Awards for their roles in After The Dance — to repeat their performances in New York, too.


There hasn’t been a Rattigan on Broadway since The Deep Blue Sea played there in 1998. And as far as I can tell, After The Dance has never been performed on the Great White Way.
Sharrock’s exploration of Rattigan’s story, about a married couple who can’t find the words to say ‘I love you’ to each other, was heartbreaking and the three lead performances have stayed with me.
Cumberbatch and Carroll played writer David Scott-Fowler and his wife Joan, with Scarborough as their close friend, John Reid. The U.S. producers are seeking permission from American Equity for the three leads to perform, before casting can be officially announced.
A spokesman for one of the actors cautioned that ‘it’s by no means a done deal yet’.
Cumberbatch, with on-screen colleague Martin Freeman, won rave reviews for the BBC Sherlock dramas when they were shown in the U.S., and by next March he should be even better known, thanks to his role in Steven   Spielberg’s War Horse and Tomas Alfredson’s Tinker   Tailor Soldier Spy movie.
Both pictures are expected to be among the next round of serious Oscar contenders.
Cumberbatch and Freeman will film three more Sherlock episodes this year. Freeman has been allowed a break from playing Bilbo Baggins in Peter Jackson’s mammoth two-part Hobbit project, which has   just started filming in New Zealand, to shoot the shows.

不过The Daily Mail真不愧是UK的tabloid，Ben的news都是他们sneak的

恩，应该是向百老汇进军，比好莱坞好些。感觉BC总是更钟情舞台的，拍电影，特别是好莱坞电影似乎只是为了挣钱。能登上百老汇舞台还是相当令人振奋的，毕竟它代表了世界上最高水平的戏剧。

好消息～但我更关心新福二到底啥时候……福三到底啥时候……

这样就对了，BC应该去寻找更广阔的发展空间
诚然大家都爱Sherlock，但是咱们不能让BC被Sherlock束缚住

benny不是不喜欢人家管他叫侦探嘛，他自己也不希望被这个角色束缚住，搞不好2劲一上来，就不演了……

本来我是打算去美国留学 现在爱上了英国的男人BC阿 所以我纠结了很高兴我可以在美国看到缺阿我好兴奋
