What were the benefits of the new MSP systems by replacing the old IVR systems? Firstly, it created a two-way communication between the reps and the district managers instead of the used one-way reports from the reps to the district managers. It reduces data collection time and helps Maybelline strengthen the ties with its retailers. Secondly, it helps the managers adjust and optimize the marketing plan and customer services in time to avoid out of stock or excessive inventory and offer the quality customer services through browser-based reporting tools and the error checking and the validation feature. Last but not least, it improves the quality of the reps and lessens the errors made by them. Consequently, it helps the company save cost. 3. What would be the potential challenges when implementing the new systems in Maybelline? First of all, the new system needs to be maintained, managed and updated periodically because the data error or security problems may occur. Secondly, there will be a big budget as every rep and manager requires a PDA to exchange the information. Thirdly, the company has to train the managers and the reps how to use the system or hire a batch of senior employers. It also increases the budget of the company. And finally, I think that Maybelline is supposed to prepare an emergency plan in order to deal with the emergencies like system crash or hacked. The new system still needs to be improved when implemented in Maybelline.
