[趣译]领便当 据说是从香港笑星周星驰的《喜剧之王》里引用而来的现代口语，表示不再出场了。而对于漫画里的人物来说，主要就是代表这个角色死了。便当一般指盒饭，和吃有关。那么就尽可能用带有吃的含义的翻译版本。领便当 = Bite the Dust (or "kicked the bucket")
[粗译]见鬼 v21c170, …“见鬼”这词在第一百七十回里被陈某再三“滥”用，简直是是要翻译的人去“见鬼”（说笑）。在下不才，以为多数时候这个词是想表达“我真倒霉”的意思。但英文里说"I’m so unlucky"好像语气不够；”what rotten luck”（“什么臭运气！”）还稍微好一点。在下思索半天，根据这词的另一解（“怎么可能”）选择了以下的翻译。而美国人说的时候可以用不同的音调来表示“不可思议”或“怎么会这样”的意思。如此就接近那个味道了。当然，真正“见到鬼”时，这个翻译还是逊色的。见鬼 = unbelievable (with an amazed tone, or an annoyed tone)
[系列]称呼 卿v10c82, v19c154, v20c160, ...The Western culture doesn’t have a historical understanding of such things as Emperors and his “Ministers” (both men of letters and men of arms), in the Asian sense at least. In Medieval Europe, there were the kings, lords, noblemen and knights, but I don’t think the “weight” of these titles is the same as their counterparts (ex. king to emperor, lord to warlord, nobleman to official, knight to General, etc.). It is thus a bit tricky to try to translate these ideas into English words that might not be suitable for all cases where the original is. For example, “minister” doesn’t give one the feeling of a man of arms, but in Chinese the Emperor can refer to all of his court officials (minimum scope) as “ministers” (or at least that’s how I see the translations). Of course, as more and more readers become familiar with the concepts, this won’t be a big issue.西方文化对亚洲的帝皇制没有历史性的理解，如君臣（文或武）名义。中世纪的欧洲曾有国王、领主、贵族、和骑士这种称号，但在下觉得它们的“份量”不同于所对应的名称（如王比皇、主比侯、贵族比臣子、骑士比将军，等等）。所以想深一层地翻译这些名称是有点难度的，特别是因为翻译过来的英语词汇不是在每个原先的场合都合适。例如，minister给人的感觉不像是个武官，但在中文里君皇可以称呼他所有的在朝臣子（最小范围）为minister（至少由在下所见的版本里）。当然，随着更多的读者对原概念加以理解，这将不算是大问题。卿 = minister爱卿 = (my) valued ministerX卿 = minister X (where X is the last name of the listener who is a “minister”)
[粗译]已经放在我嘴边了 v15c125, v18c144, c20c162又是一句多层意义的话。一方面是指吞并家族的势力和财产（司马家和山家各有此意），一方面则是亲吻（仅司马懿有这种趣味启齿）。而这第二个“最肤浅”的意义真是令在下拍案叫绝（接着才是大笑）。本来觉得(1)虽然说出来不算太陌生，但毕竟有点硬。可是为了配合第二个涵义，一时间又舍不得(1)。在下不才，以为最偏原句却是容易被理解的翻译恐怕是(4).X已经放在我嘴边了 =(1) X is already near my lips/mouth (closest glossing)(2) success is so close I can almost taste it (fair enough, but doesn’tincorporate X)(3) X is good enough to eat(4) X is ripe for the picking (commonly heard in English)
[简译]天下无敌 v1c2在网上看到懂中文的观众议论英文版《英雄》里“天下”的翻译，认为最有“味儿”的是"all under heaven" (天界底下的一切)。如果类推的话，天下无敌大可翻成"no match under heaven". 不过能否简洁一点呢？毕竟不是随便谁都看得惯古怪的翻译语句，特别是口头上说某个人是“天下无敌”的时候，说"he has no match under Heaven"实在太别扭了。当然，如果目的是一字字翻（比如旗帜上的标语），那么还是这样翻好。天下无敌 =(1) No Match Under the Sky/Heaven (formal, but quite a mouthful)(2) Undefeatable (casual, but to the point)
[趣译]去你的 v9c75, v16c129, v20c166 ...在文中出现时多数是带着一种调侃的口吻，不带攻击成分。一时间觉得比较接近的，大概是美国青年（女子用得多）口中常用的一个词。去你的 = whatever(not exactly "I'm indifferent", which have another word for it)
[翻译]小别胜新婚 v18c148初次见到便有感，英文里有句相对的俗话！后在网络上搜索一下，大都如此译。庆幸。是有点老套，但常用的话才容易看得懂。小别胜新婚 = absence makes the heart grow fonder
[解词]拷他一笔 卷十六，一百二十八回里，无名军师对袁术说了句“拷他一笔”。根据上下文推断，计谋中有拖延时间的用意，所以起先没有想太多。但在翻译的时候犯难了，这句话到底什么意思呢？在台湾的一个火凤论坛上提问，得以下答复："拷"其实是"敲"的别字，就是"敲诈"的意思。。。"拷/敲他一笔"是广东谚语(或可能是港式谚语)，同义的港式动词还有"(挖)他一笔"、"(凿)他一笔"、"(屈)他一笔"。陈大师是地地道道的香港人，一不留神用了广府话入文。（张某人前辈）听过上海话的人可能会联想到类似的“敲”（“敲竹杠”）的发音。这样的话。。。拷他一笔 = make him pay
[解词]不徨多让 相继在卷十六和卷十八底封面的小插画里看到“不徨多让”，因为从没听过这个词，而且又不是成语，本以为是香港地方话。结果这个词在卷十九的一百五十一回里出自张雷之口。好像其他角色也说过，只是现在一下子找不到。。。那么，该怎么翻呢？首先，去请教中文的解释。同学之间都不知道，最后在台湾的一个火凤论坛上提问，得以下答复：不会差到那裹去/不会差得太多的意思（小鸟前辈）；"徨"的字义同"彷"，就是"好像"，"类似"的意思。即：「好像一样，不差太多」的意思（张某人前辈）。这样的话。。。不徨多让 = about the same; not much different
