MIS focus on management control level ,produce periodic reports, decisions are semi-structured DSS is the ecisions that they make have the broadest scope and cover the longest time frame , decisions are very unstructured. EIS is commonly considered as a specialized form of a Decision Support System 5.Why is the application of Information Technology give pace to organization’s competitiveness? In some cases, information technology (IT) had been critical to the implementation of an organisation's strategy. A variety of interpretations of strategy exist, most of which have a great deal to do with competition between corporations. 6.Why does manager need information? Managers at all levels of the organization need information in order to ensure that they are achieving the desired objectives or targets for their area of the business. Those particular objectives will be different at the various levels and business units in the organization (although they should all be geared to achieving its corporate objectives) and, hence, their information requirements will also be different. Nevertheless, there will be a flow of information both up and down the organization structure as each level receives information for its purposes and adapts it for the next level. 7.Justify the given phrase “top-level managers need soft information”. Soft information (over the telephone or in the canteen) is collected and stored until other items of information (either soft or hard) reinforce or add to that information.
