He may look like an American but speaks like a local Beijinger. Eleven years ago he moved to China, and made Beijing his home. China’s new- generation filmmaker, he has directed three films, all of which have won many awards. Bus 44（车四十四）, a short film written and directed by Dayyan, premiered and won awards at the 2001 Venice Film Festival and 2002 Sundance Film Festival, and was invited to the 2002 Cannes Film Festival "Directors Fortnight" – becoming the first Chinese short film to be invited to all three festivals. Waiting Alone（独自等待） received 3 nominations (including Best Picture) at the Golden Rooster Awards (Chinese Oscars) -- the first movie directed by a foreigner to receive this honor! 【发言】喜欢《情定大饭店》里的裴勇俊 可能大部分人都更喜欢裴勇俊在《冬季恋歌》里的表演吧，但我很喜欢《情定大饭店》的乐观积极的基调，跟一般悲伤的韩剧不一样，相比李民亨，我更被申东贤的魄力吸引。
