Hey folks, this is a map for the first multiplayer test of the world generator i’ve been working on for the Clausewitz engine. It’s nowhere near a finished state but it is semi-functional after a year of work. Thanks for downloading the map and trying it out! Roadmap: Always being worked on: Terrain generation: New noise functions for alternate terrain types like island maps, dry planets, pangea planets. Runtime efficiency: Currently 10 minutes to generate a map on a single processor. It can take up to 30 minutes with a high amount of erosion, which isn’t necessary but makes for more satisfying rivers. User Interface: Current implementation of a UI for an end-user to make their own maps is two months out of sync with implemented features. Only the console version is currently up to date. Currently being worked on: 1. Smoother terrain texture transitions/dithering. 2. Initial army placement and disposition. 3. Unique army and city textures depending on region/culture. 4. Tweaking population and infrastructure distribution. 5. Adding more building types on map start: Airports and Dockyards a priority. 6. Adding more terrain types: Swamps/Marshes being a priority. New non vanilla terrain types as a secondary goal: Forested hills, desert mountains, etc. 7. Fixing Wargoals. 8. Commander Portraits. Future Goals: Short term: More women leaders and women’s names. A detailed country description for each nation displayed at nation select. Starting navies for nations. Weather: precipitation and heatmaps are already implemented, but they need to be analyzed by the strategic region generator to build weather effects. Starting commander traits. Formable nations. Cores outside of starting territory. Long term: Rivers: Align them more closely to the province grid, bring them further inland, and spawn them according to the precipitation map. Modular random focus trees. Custom Ideologies. Modular random tech trees. National Ideas. Eliminate the vertical line where the map edges meet. Long Long Term: Functionality for Europa Universalis 4 and future paradox games.
