TK回加拿大拍新片了 Gleeson, Kitsch to star in The Grand Seduction; shooting starts today‎ Brendan Gleeson and Taylor Kitsch have been confirmed to star in The Grand Seduction, the English version of Jean-François Pouliot’s 2003 film La grande séduction. The film was originally set to be directed by Ken Scott, who backed out when his film Starbuck got picked up for a Hollywood remake. More details of the production, now being helmed by Don McKellar (Blindness, Last Night), were announced Monday. Irish actor Gleeson (who played Prof. Mad-Eye Moody in the Harry Potter series) and Canadian heartthrob Kitsch (Savages, John Carter) add marquee clout to the project. The $12.7 million film is set in the town of Tickle Cove, which must seduce a visiting doctor to stick around so the town can secure a factory contract which will save it from financial ruin. Gleeson plays Murray French, a resident leading the charge; and Kitsch plays Dr. Paul Lewis Michael Dowse (director of Hockey satire Goon) co-wrote the screenplay from Scott’s script for the original French version. Other casting confirmations include Canadian actors Gordon Pinsent, Mary Walsh, Cathy Jones and Liane Balaban. The film began shooting Monday in St. John’s, Newfoundland, and will include various surrounding outport communities. “It’s been thrilling to see the elements of this production – this rock-solid script, this awesome cast and crew – coming together like natural forces in this timeless landscape,” McKellar said.The film’s casting is being handled by Heidi Leivitt and Lucie Robitaille.
