Guus will join Chelsea! Or I didn't? I don't have any sources from the media or in house colleagues working for Chelsea. Just trying to add 1+1 and come up with 2 rather than the 1+1 = 6 and 10 the press comes up with. I will like to take you through a trail this season on Guus Hiddink. Listen to Guus's word's pre-Carlo. Sometime in November 2010, he was quoted as follows: 'But at my age I don't want to manage a club again for seven days a week over three years.' Carlo is sacked on May 22nd. On May 23rd, a day after Carlo was sacked, the press pushes Guus's agent on whether Guus has ruled out a return to club management and here is his response: 'I don't know that you can say that. He is focusing on his job and he likes what he is doing. As recently as May 26th 2011, Guus Hiddink was quoted as saying this: 'I have in my career very few games. I want to do more with the players on a daily basis but that is impossible because I am national team manager.' I have been following Jason for a while now on Telegraph. I don't know if it is luck or coincidence, but he did say as far back as April that Carlo was going to get the sack and we will be after Guus Hiddink He is also out with another article yesterday night that Guus will be hired on a 2 year contract at Stamford Bridge. Not exactly sure how true this is, but the quotes in there and Daily Mail are something one should look at albeit quoted differently. Telegraph says: 'There's nothing concrete,' he insisted when asked about Chelsea. 'You cannot go into all kind of speculation or rumours because there's nothing concrete. The moment things are concrete, I'll go to where I have to be, direct.' Daily Mail quotes the following around 1:28 am: Speaking from the Turkish training camp in Holland, ahead of Friday's Euro 2012 qualifier against Belgium, Hiddink said: 'At the moment there's nothing concrete to talk about, but if there was a concrete offer I would think about it. We'll play this game and then see. The moment things are concrete, I'll go to where I have to be.' To continue from where he stopped on his May 26th quotes in regards to managing day to day, here is his quote from the Daily Mail article: But Hiddink said: 'I have the energy, I'm not feeling that I should sit back. As long as I feel fresh and as long as the young people, the players, are not getting annoyed with me, then I will continue. So far, I feel energetic enough to go on." Given the lack of replacements we see in the market, I think Guus will join Chelsea regardless of the outcome of the Turkey - Belgium match next week. I don't know about you guys, but I am happy with such a decision. He is better than all other alternatives in the market right now. Unless, of course, Guus changes his words again!
