This album is 100% legendary and original, no album has ever been put out like this before . Never since Eminem have I heard a hip hard artist with so much diversity. The ability to have one track containing a hard hitting, rapid fire delivery and the next have a somewhat slower, insightful, but lyrically imaginative track, all while keeping his identity, is phenominally refreshing. There are usually 2 types of artists, those with incredible flows who lack lyricalism and creativity, and those who are amazing with lyrics but have no real flow or sound that makes them original. Yelawolf has both of these attritubutes, to a high degree. Combined with the fact that he is from the dirty south, is a former skateboarder, grew up living a welfare filled white trash life, just makes him that much more interesting. Some of his trunk muzik fans might criticize this album for sounding too "radio friendly" with some tracks, or perhaps label it as too all-over-the-place, but I say it shows the diversity of Yelawolfs talent. Yelawolf could have easily put out another mixtape sounding album similar to that of trunk muzik, but yelawolf is not the type of artist to "settle" for what's easy. He pushed himself, he challenged himself, and he explored new avenues an sounds on some tracks while still clinging to his southern roots and his rapid fire delivery on others, but always been Yela. I haven't been this excited about a hip hop artist in a long time. Whether or not he recieves the commercial attention of the mass audiences is yet to be seen, but it's far to say...either way, we are all witnessing a legend in the making.
