Tonight I've got Will Smith, Will-san to do Freakin' Itfor us, but tonight I'm gonna do you-know-what! You-know-what! At last! It's been ages. Shall I do it? Here we go. Ike-TEL SMAP![jingle for Ike-TEL SMAP.[singing to an impromptu tune] Oh-it's-my-first-Ike-TEL-SMAP-in-a-long-time-which-means-I-phone-from-out-of- this-load-of-postcards-that-have-built-up...[in a high tone] There's a whole lot -- enormous number. But before that, excuse me but I'd like to make a private phone call.[ringing tone]Male voice : Yes?T : Hello.Male voice : Yes?T : Who is it? Say your name.Ku : [pause] It's Tsuyoshi.T : What the hell are you doing? Now.Ku : Now -- I'm heading your way.T : Heading my way? It's radio today, you know, you and me. Today I was told it's Ike-TEL with Tsuyoshi, so I came here, but there's no you yet!Ku : Sorry, but the road's congested, see?T : So what? Don't you shout at me. Ku : Um, Sorry, sorry.T : This is already being broadcast, you know?Ku : You -- You've started it already?T : Started it? -- [shouts] Can't you tell by the time!?Ku : Really -- then I'll get there in a hurry.T : In a hurry --I bet you won't make it in time.Ku : Yes I will.T : No, not for today's broadcast.Ku : [laughs] I'm heading your way on the motorway, so --T : Where have you been? Today.Ku : Today I was -- just loafing around.T : Loafing around!?Ku : Yeah.T : How come you've got your manager with you just to loaf around?Ku [giggles]T : Hey.Ku : I got him to come and collect me. We met up.T : Seriously?Ku : Uh-huh.T : So where are you now? Iikura?Ku : At the moment we're just passing through Roppongi or thereabouts.T : Roppongi or thereabouts.Ku : Yes.T : What's the town like, today?Ku : Let's see, it's extremely congested , today.T : No, that's not the issue...Honestly...Please...What were you doing, loafing around?Ku : Today -- I was shopping.T : Shopping?Ku : Yup. And eating.T : Then you must have got something for me. If you were shopping.Er -- Didn't buy anything today.T : How can you say you were shopping when you didn't buy anything?Ku : I was just strolling around.T : You and your strolling around -- Why do you stroll around until you're late for work?Ku : I just -- Sorry.T : That's not good enough.Ku : No.T : Well I'm going to phone someone else.Ku : Okay.T : See you.Ku : See you. Be right there. T : I'm not waiting for you anymore [laughs]! So long!Ku: Bye-bye.[phone clicks off]T : [heaves a huge sigh] Well, I'd like to phone this very proper YOU who very properly sent us a postcard. Shiho of Nagoya City. Wonder if she's home. Really, Tsuyoshi and I should be doing this together, but he won't come![a series of chimes are heard from the other end] What? Honestly -- well she's written her home number as well, so maybe I'll try there. Here goes. To her home.
stop the smap 00/4/10 Monday, 10th April, 2000[music]Everyone, good eve-ning. Monday,10th April. It was Shingo till last week. Long time no see. First appearance in a long time. This is Kimura Takuya. Um...I really haven't been here for a while. Haven't come to Yotsuya 3-chome1 for a long time, but as I'm here today --"today" sounds a bit odd -- I, Kimura Takuya, would like to make an effort for a while from now. Now, it's Monday, so, although it's a bit abrupt, I'd like to start alone2. Here's "Kimura Takuya's SMAPish Night".[jingle]We-ell -- Ah, it's some time since I got postcards like these. This is from Miki-chan in Hiroshima. Er, "Takuya-kun, good evening." Good evening. "I've been a fan for a long time, but this is my first postcard to you." Wow, a postcard, for the first time. "Well, otsukaresama-deshita for the drama Beautiful Life. You said before, I think, in some magazine, that as you were doing the drama in the cold, you'd like to go somewhere warm to surf when it was over, but will it happen? You talked about it on SMAP x SMAP, too, and it seems you were really cold. I hope "surfing in a warm place" comes true for you, as a treat for having worked so hard under such conditions. If you manage to go, do tell us about it. Bye. P.S. I've been wondering about this for a long time, but you usually wear your wristwatch on the right wrist, whereas in the drama you wore it on the left. It was on the left when you played yourself on "Furuhata Special", too. Are you making a difference between Kimura Takuya and your role?" says Miki-chan -- Miki-san -- 27 years old. Same age? [chuckles]I hope it does come true. I really do. You see, a drama at this time -- that is, in wintertime, was new to me, so at the beginning -- when location shooting started, I didn't know how to cope! This -- coldness that had to be a joke, and as we entered February, "cold" ceased to be the expression -- the adjective for it. More like "painful". I wondered how we'd manage, but in the end we did it. Somehow one manages. I'm sure I couldn't have done it by myself, but...That lake3, that was really hell. The car temperature -- or should I say "the indoor temperature of the car"? The indoor temperature of the car, with the heater going full blast, was two degrees below zero4. I -- nearly thought it was an advert for car oil, but that was a bit scary. Still -- one manages to stick through. Yes...People co-operating together is a great thing, I think. And with it safely over, and the broadcast over, I think I might be able to go somewhere, but --um -- I do want to go a lot, and have been making plans about going to this spot or that, but somehow -- ummm -- they won't leave me alone, somehow -- I suppose it's their job and they can't help it, but --er -- um -- I wish that kind of people would cut me dead. I feel like begging them to understand this, but I don't want to beg; it's not as if I'm doing anything wrong, so I hope they'll leave me alone. But if circumstances allow, I'd love to go. Hmm. It's still cold, though. The sea off Chiba, I dipped in for a second and thought of going home. Like "Oh it's cold, oh, oh, I'm going home!" If only I could go somewhere warm. Um. When that happens, I mean to surf to my heart's content.Oh, but it was long! It really felt long, the drama. The three months spent on this particular one. I wonder why? It wasn't the kind where the story moves along a lot. In the latter half the tempo was sort of languid, but I managed to get through it.When's the next one? Probably -- next -- year? I don't think there will be one until next year. Yes. I'd like to disappear from your sight for a while. Now let's have a song. Here you are.[music: Kon-ya Tsuki no Mieru Oka ni by B'z][closing theme: Can't Stop - Loving -]Right, this was my first "Stop the SMAP" in a long time. What does it mean, "Stop the SMAP"? Coming here anew, it struck me anew. Translated directly, it means "stop SMAP", right? Johnny thought of it? To mean "Try and stop SMAP's momentum if you can"? Well, "Stop the SMAP" normally doesn't strike you as odd, which is why I thought of taking a look at it.We're waiting for your postcards. For Thursday's "SMAPish Night", write what you want discussed, what you want answered, and send it in. Address it to "Stop the SMAP -- SMAP na Yoru", Bunka Hoso, 160-8002. If your card is read on the programme, you'll be presented with an IkeTEL-SMAP cellphone strap you can stick print club stickers on to. So keep them coming in. See you again, tomorrow! Bye-bye.
