美国科罗拉多州惊武装强拆,装甲车冲锋枪齐登场 A SWAT team armed with assault rifles was sent by Colorado officials to evict a 63-year-old woman from her foreclosed home last week after she had enlisted the help of Occupy Denver protesters. Heavily armed officers from two counties in full tactical gear were called in last Tuesday because two dozen protesters joined the homeowner, Sahara Donahue, erecting barricades outside her Idaho Springs home. The protesters were from The Colorado Foreclosure Resistance Coalition, which is part of the Occupy Denver movement. The group's spokesperson said they were on hand to help prevent officials from kicking Donahue out of her residence, according to 9News. Captain Bruce Snelling, of the Clear Creek County Sheriff's Department, said the reason so many SWAT team members showed up is because a few hours before the eviction, law enforcement officials learned that one of the protesters was seen with a hand gun. It was later determined that the weapon was only a BB gun, which was still a concern for Snelling. Darren O'Conner, a member of the protest group, however, insisted that the deputies knew that the gun was not real since the protest had been streamed live online before the SWAT team swooped in aboard 10 trucks to break it up - a claim that has been denied by the department. The entire confrontation between the protesters and the law enforcement officers was filmed and posted online, showing the members of the coalition verbally abusing the SWAT team before the officers hurled some of the demonstrators to the ground and handcuffed them at gunpoint. 'I think our officers handled themselves just fine,' Snelling said. 'I'll tell you at the end of the day we were prepared to meet any resistance that may have come.' Donahue, who suffered a severe head injury in a car accident, was petitioning U.S. Bank for an additional 60 days to remain in her home so she could have time to find another place to live, but her request was denied. The 63-year-old woman then approached the Occupy activists, asking for their help in delaying her eviction. On Tuesday, protesters laid barricades from fallen trees to prevent moving trucks and workers from entering the property and were able to put off the inevitable for a few hours. But shortly before 3pm, at least ten truckloads of police in full tactical gear armed with AR-15’s and grenade launchers arrived on the scene and forced Occupiers to the ground at gun point. According to Occupy Denver, police then made their way to the house, broke down the front door, threw Donahue to the ground in her kitchen and pointed their guns at the heads of a mother and son who were in the house. The incident ended with Donahue being removed from her home of 24 years. Occupiers returned later that evening to help her pack the few belongings she could carry with her. She is currently staying with friends along with her two dogs, Rodeo and French Fry. Two activists were detained but later released, and no one was charged with weapons possession.
