外评出炉世青冠军DD和小卡娅 加拿大Examiner 报的花滑博客Jackie Wong,偶颇喜欢看的。(内文亦轻轻的提了一下子君喔。) *** Opining on Junior Worlds: What to make of Yan and Lipnitskaia? The singles disciplines at the 2012 World Junior Championships featured some pretty incredible skating, and it was no easy feat for the winners by any means. In the men’s event, Han Yan took the gold with technically jam-packed programs. And in the ladies’ competition, Julia Lipnitskaia impressed everyone with her strong jumps and unreal flexibility. Before we move on to Worlds, let’s take a look at these two and what their skates tell us about their future potential. Who is Han Yan? I won’t turn up the hype machine too much, but Han Yan is, at the moment, China’s biggest hope to become a contender in the men’s event. What about Nan Song, you ask? Don’t get me wrong, Song is a fine skater – but at 15, not only does Yan have the technical prowess, but he’s also got really solid basics that will serve him well for the future. For someone who didn’t have a triple axel in his competition repertoire last season, Yan has certainly upped his game by light years this season. Not only does he now have a strong triple axel, but he’s also got a quad toe, both of which he used to edge the Americans for the Junior World title. And the guys traditionally only get stronger as they hit their late teens and early 20s, so you wonder what more he is capable of. Yan also has the potential to become an all-around skater, something that Song, now 21, has yet to accomplish. Of course, Song is still only in his second full season as a senior. The jumper motif is a bit of a hallmark of the Chinese program – the Chen Lus and the Shen/Zhaos are rare. Instead, we get a bunch of jumping machines who don’t particularly know how to really skate. His two programs this season are still raw, but you get glimpses of the intangibles – his ease of moment on the ice (albeit supremely rushed), his innate sense of knee bend, and, surprisingly enough for a Chinese skater, his ability to spin. But between Yan and Song, China has a chance to really make an impact in the men’s field for the first time since Chengjiang Li was at his best. But unlike Li, these two can’t rely on just their jumps. Who is Julia Lipnitskaia? There’s been plenty of talk about the depth of the Russian ladies. Next year is the year that names like Adelina Sotnikova and Elizaveta Tuktamisheva will be eligible for Worlds. The big question has been whether or not they can live up to their talent once the growth spurts happen. Don’t forget that Sotnikova won her first Russian title when she was 12 and Tuktamisheva was the silver medalist that year. Of course, now comes Julia Lipnitskaia, who dethroned Sotnikova for the Junior World title (and, arguably, should have also won Russian Nationals where she took the silver to Sotnikova). She had a dream junior season, very much resembling what Sotnikova did last year, and has deserved every bit of the accolades that she has gotten this season. Lipnitskaia has two things especially going for her, incredible flexibility and consistent technical difficulty. While her basics are not as quite strong as a Sotnikova and she is not quite as easily powerful as a Gracie Gold and she is not quite as artistic as a Zijun Li, Lipnitskaia’s flexibility disguises some of that and then more. The fact that she is an all-around junior skater with a strong presence gives her a leg up when the uniqueness of her flexibility comes into play. The question, really, is how the lack of height in her jumps will affect her as she transitions from a junior to a senior. As she grows in the next few years, she will no doubt have to deal with the fact that her rotation will not be as fast and that her she will need to develop more power. It’s quick and easy for people to anoint her the next big thing for Russia – much as it is in Gold’s case in American skating. But those who are already putting her on the Russian team for Sochi need to realize that two years is a long time in figure skating. After Sotnikova’s win last year at Junior Worlds, many were expecting her to have an all-out season on the senior ranks – but she has had her struggles this season with consistency. A bronze at Junior Worlds was certainly not what she was hoping for. So for me, the best thing to do is to appreciate what skaters like Yan, Lipnitskaia, and Gold have done this season to make a name for themselves. Sochi is a long way’s away. *** 3w.examiner.com/figure -skating-in-national/opining- on-junior-worlds -what-to-make -of-yan -and-lipnitskaia (去空白)
