切夫說今天會用盡所有選手,讓科舍找狀態 Kyoto, Japan. 24 June 2016. As russiavolley.com anticipated earlier today, Russia and Serbia gave us an exciting 5-set match in a result 2-3 (25-23, 27-25, 21-25, 20-25, 12-15) at Kyoto Shimadzu Arena. Russia took the first two sets and encountered a powerful bounce back from Serbia which took the remaining 3 sets. It also marked the first defeat for Russia in the tournament. Russian scoring machine Natalia Goncharova got 20 points and following the outside hitter Tatiana Kosheleva scored 19 points. The lineup of Russia was similar to the previous leg except for No.17 Malykh who was replaced by Yana Shcherban. Recalling that Yana was absent in last week’s competition in Italy due to eye injury, she was enlisted in the start-six in the first set (was substituted by Ilchenko in second half of 1st set and the whole second set). In addition, Head Coach Yury Marichev also gave chance to Samoilenko (Shlyakhovaya) since set 2. The first two sets match started with fairly even exchanges until the third set while our girls had made many errors, mainly in reception and attack while Serbia had enhanced their stability and blocking forces, leading them to the victory. In the post-match press conference, both Marichev and Captain Pankova commented that the major reason of their loss was that they had made too many errors. On tomorrow’s match against Thailand, Volleyrussia asked Marichev whether he would try new combination of players as they defeated Thailand in Italy in straight sets. He said he would rather use all players instead of reserving key players such as Kosheleva. He further stated that Kosheleva was absent in previous weeks and therefore would continue to have her playing in order to help her regain her best form as soon as possible. 來自volley russia
